My newborn photography sessions offer a range of images with your family, I hold great importance in the love and connection between you all and feel a newborn session is mostly about you welcoming your baby into your world. So while I am capturing moments of the whole family together, I aim for the finished photos to be very relaxed and natural, limiting the poses and capturing more intimate and somewhat candid moments between you and your baby. I like for you to almost forget I am there; I will let a beautiful moment just happen, without too much direction or interruption.

For the photos of your baby, I have plenty of posing blankets, beanies, headbands, and gorgeous props to style a unique session just for you and your family. I have a range of different props and set ups for both boys and girls to create gorgeous images for you to treasure for a lifetime.

in the studio
The studio is kept nice and warm, ensuring baby is comfortable at all times. Light refreshments are offered, with a selection of tea, coffee and water available for your Family. Newborn nappies and wipes are provided for your time with me, as well as a change table and very comfortable feeding chair for those who wish to feed in comfort…or fall asleep easily while I am capturing beautiful images of your baby.

For families with young children, I have a small range of toys for older siblings and a colouring table for little artists to come to life when not having their photo taken. I always encourage them to join in, always offering a job for them to be my special helper if they wish. I love for them to introduce their little person to me, pointing out their sweet little features, celebrate that we all have a nose and ears and toes.

clothing
Nothing is more important to me than you being completely comfortable when you are in my company. The clothes you wear should be something you love, something that makes you feel beautiful.

Light neutral colours always work really well. If you would like to include a colour, it is best to pick just one or two and work around that, just try not to all wear the same thing or you may potentially clash.

location + timing
I photograph newborns in their first 7-14 days while they are still fresh and new and tiny in my natural light newborn studio which is located in Briar Hill, North of Melbourne.

Newborn sessions will run for around 180 minutes. This time may vary for larger families or families with older siblings.
